InfiniCharge

Reference number: 6146

Batteries represent a large portion of required maintenance for electronic devices. It is expected that this maintenance burden will only increase with the number of sensors we employ.

There is a clear need for a self-maintaining, long lasting alternative to batteries.

Imperial Innovations has filed patents for Infinicharge, an energy harvesting device. InfiniCharge is a simple and inexpensive device able to collect inertial energy and convert it into electricity for output in the tens of microwatts range. InfiniCharge could reduce costs, maintenance needs, and the environmental impact of electronic devices such as consumer electronics and medical sensors.

The device prototype is in its fourth iteration and is being prepared for real world testing.
