Joanna works as the IP Due Diligence Executive, supporting the interface between inventors and TTO Licensing Executives to establish the legal framework in which an invention has been created. She leads a group responsible for obtaining due diligence information, taking legal ownership of IP and managing relationships with funders, inventors and Imperial College.

Prior to starting the role, Joanna worked at Imperial Innovations as the Healthcare Project & IP Executive, providing expert input into the company’s healthcare IP commercialisation strategy. Before that, she worked as the company’s Patent and Licence Administrator, managing post-licensing obligations owed to third parties, including reporting to charities on the commercialisation of IP that they had funded.

Joanna has a scientific and legal background. She holds a BSc in Pharmacology from UCL, as well as an MSc in Clinical Neuroscience from the Institute of Neurology. This was followed by studying law at BPP Law School.
