The traditional R&D pipelines within major pharmaceutical companies are changing.

Increasingly, pharmaceutical companies are looking to source candidate therapeutics with extensive pre-clinical data. This gap is being filled predominantly by small biotech companies using translational grants and investment from venture capital, charity, and government funders. Who are these new funders of pre-clinical research? What do you need to show to convince them to back your project?

Imperial Innovations has organised workshops to enable researcher to:

  • interact with people working in different funding sources
  • learn about the current state of pre-clinical research
  • learn what funders and pharma look for in a project
  • learn how to secure funding for their pre-clinical projects

There will also be opportunities for one-on-one sessions with fund managers and to pitch a project to the CEO of an industry funder.

The workshops are open to research staff at any career stage: whether you are currently working on a novel therapeutic, or think you may do in the future, these sessions will leave you prepared to take your research further.

Each workshop is expected to run from 9:00 until 14:00, with sessions planned at both the South Kensington and Hammersmith campuses. See below for more details.
