Imperial Innovations sponsors launch of OBR London
The Oxbridge-London Biotech Roundtable, a student-led forum, tonight launches their London chapter at an event sponsored by Imperial Innovations.
OBR's mission is to create a global network of academic idea holders and connect them with each other and industry resources necessary to move their ideas to market.
At tonight's event, two of the world's most prominent academic innovators will receive 'Courage in Innovation' awards from OBR.
Dr Richard Lerner, president of The Scripps Research Institute, and Sir Greg Winter, FRS, (Cambridge University) will be honored for their contributions towards making possible the field of therapeutic antibodies- now a $30B/yr market. The award is presented in conjunction with Nature Biotechnology and Imperial Entrepreneurs (Imperial College London’s premier entrepreneurial society), and the ceremony will feature talks by Sir Peter Lachmann (world renown immunologist) and Susan Searle, CEO of Imperial Innovations.
