Innovations selectively invests within its portfolio of companies to accelerate development and increase value. The Group also seeks opportunities to invest in a technology businesses emanating from a number of research intensive universities. We benefit from working alongside the New Ventures team during the critical early years as the businesses are de-risked.  Armed with this insight, the investment team is responsible for all of Innovations investment activities, and its functions include:

•    Assessing investment in portfolio companies including independent due diligence;
•    Preparing the investment case and negotiating investment terms;
•    Conducting regular investment reviews;
•    Managing relationships with portfolio companies;
•    Leading investment rounds;
•    Aligning quality co-investors;
•    Supporting and assessing companies’ progress;
•    Preparing companies for sale and managing realisations
