Novacem is developing a unique cementitious binder. During its use in the building process, it actually removes significant amounts of CO2 from the atmosphere. It can be used to replace Portland Cement which is reponsible for around 5% of all anthropogenic CO2 emmissions. The Novacem binder is based on Magnesium compounds and is expected to be competitive with Portland Cement in a wide range of building product applications. The product has great commercial potential as well as potential to reduce CO2.
